aNiMe LoVe

After more than 2 months of playing, I finally managed to complete my first eroge, Fortune Arterial with my half past 6 japanese skills (i can’t read half of the conversations in the eroge). I first heard of it from Dannychoo and decided to try it when I heard from somewhere this visual novel from August is good, and got a copy from “you-know-where”. Now that I completed it, I am glad that to say that it is worth my time.

The story is about this guy who kept transferring schools due to the nature of his parent’s work, before finally coming to the one featured in this visual novel. From here, he will meet the people that will eventually become his friends/lover and learn their stories, gain their love etc. The story will progress linearly till the point u get to choose which female character you want to progress the story with ( there are 5 to choose from). As a typical eroge, u will unlock those ’scenes’ after some progress into the story for the female character that you choose (duh, lol). And in order to unlock the true ending, you must complete all 5 characters routes (since the first part of the story is universal to all characters, I just save at the point where I have to choose the who to progess with and continue from there). Here are the female characters(in order of preference):

Sendo Erika: She is the vice president of the student council and a typical female lead charcter; smart, good grades and popular, though she can be quite pushy when it comes to work. But she has her cute side as well (moe…..) Seriously, she is my favourite charcter among the 5 of them, reason being other than the cute part, she is not human, giving the story a nice, supernatural focus. Much of her story (and the true ending) is focused on her non-human nature, her human conflicts with it and her love for the male lead, making her route really engaging and emotional.

Kuze Kiriha: my second most favourite character. Silent, sarcastic and slutty (just kidding lol). For some reason(dun think I will reveal it here), she skipped classes a lot and can be found on a nearby hill looking at the scenery. Academically, her best subject is Mathematics, often topping the maths tests, making her Erika’s rival. She is the other character that has strong supernatural elements in the story, though unlike Erika, her route doesn’t revolve much on her supernatural side; it’s more of getting her to open her heart up.

Yuki Haruna: She is the childhood friend and the only one who kept in touch with the male lead before he moved several years back; the male lead moved back to his current location during the story time line. Due to some ‘accident’, she lost her memory of the male lead back then. Though her story is ‘perfectly normal’, you get to see her cute side a lot of times in her route ( though some may argue she already is, for a 2D character).

Togi Shiro: the only loli in this visual novel. Though human, her family is related to the Sendos for reason I dun want to reveal. To me, much of her story revolve about her and her sister complex brother (lol), something about her duties towards her family and her love for the male lead. Nevertheless, I dun really get her story and as such, dun find her route engaging.

Yuki Kanade: Elder sister to Yuki Haruna, though she looks more like an imouto. She is the noisiest and most hyperactive character of the whole game (she is practically a genderbended Naruto). Her story, for half of the part, revolve around a TREE. Yes, a tree, you will understand why when you play the game. I found myself, for some reason, like her route the least of all 5 of them; I just try to read the conversation quickly to finish her part.

All 5 routes have their unanswered questions; u can find their answers by going through the true route. The game’s art and scenery design is pretty good and some parts are pretty funny, for example, at the begining, where the school council president and vice president make their speech, the male lead got targeted and embarressed in front of the whole school. Overall, this is a good visual novel to enjoy; u guys should try it ^^

Oh, for those perverts out there. I DUN THINK that U CAN GET TO THOSE SCENES by CLICKING FOR 30 MINUTES MINDLESSLY lol.
